Gopher Chicks
Infographic
This is a health promotion infographic that comes from the idea that “movement is medicine,” aiming to focus on excessive sedentary behavior as well as small actions that can be implemented easily into one’s life to better their health. Here, we explore the topic through the lens of Barstool’s Gopher Chicks, an Instagram account made for University of Minnesota girls.

Starting healthy habits young can have a significant impact on future health outcomes which is why I aim to resonate with girls as they are forming their first adult habits. Though people should aim to take bigger strides towards adequate physical fitness, small choices still add up and can have a huge impact on one’s health and wellness both future and present.
Even just having simple reminders of the types of daily choices we have can be enough to keep health conscious decisions in the back of our minds. The micro-targeting of University of Minnesota students specifically offers them more personalized content in which they can relate to with their peers. This is why I designed this to be posted as Gopher Chicks, a casual Instagram page for UMN students to follow. This page often shares relatable content through the lens of university girls. They often use pop-culture references and things that are going on at the school to stay relevant and cool.
The post guides Gopher Chicks (ie. UMN students) to think more about their daily habits and to check out the CDC’s physical activity guidelines.
